agreed," Behind The Lines" is a wonderful example of how Genesis managed to modernize their music without losing anything from their traditional skilful writing.
Must be great to know so exactely which song is slightly better than the other. You should become a specialist )) And Behind The Lines btw. is a wonderful song, it is
musically totally in line with genesis classics as M400 said, only more modern. But after it is a matter of taste,
What - Willow Farm?!?! In its own way, I think BTL is a really great track. My feelings about TMB are the same as yours about SR - great start and end - but I've just never liked the middle - think Mick Barnard wrote it (guitarist between Phillips and Hackett - it certainly doesn't sound like either of them). We could maybe add Entangled or Mad Man Moon - both superb, no?
Supper's Ready is great but that middle bridge just wrecks the song for me, Lamia and Ripples just don't much up to Supper's Ready and Cinema Show, Behind the Lines? come on what are you thinking, I forgot Musical Box which is a better overall song than say los endos, carpet crawlers, theres so many.
Those are all great - but I would add Supper's Ready and One for the Vine. Also The Lamia, Fountain of Salmacis, Ripples and - dare I say it - Behind the Lines.
@M400fan long, but a great song!
