Amanpour needs to get the fuck off television and shut up about conflicts she CLEARLY knows nothing about. Mladic is a hero and always will be. @Hperman09 Yea Bosnia was a European failure, because the world in general wanted to stop what was happening, unlike in Rwanda where no one really gave a damn about them. Rwanda was the world's failure.

@DDMWS1234 Bosnia, Europe didn't really use their proper leadership correctly in their own backyard and blocked request from the U.S. for a massive airstrikes as well as lifting the arms embargo. While the world failed on that one, we actually give a damn what's going on.

Rwanda, ya i know but the UN as a whole was scared that it would be another "Somalia" on an African nation if they intervened so they chose to sit back and watch the genocide happen.

@Hperman09 Clinton knew what was happening in Rwanda though, he refused to do anything, yes because of Somalia, and because Rwanda was of no value to them, there was nothing in it for them. Bosnia they intervened just too late.

@DDMWS1234 Clinton was not reluctant to intervened Rwanda because of the 1993 Black Hawk Down incident in Somalia where 18 US troops were killed. The public in the USA was not in mood for another intervention in Africa which is why the UN sat back and watch the Rwanda Genocide happen.

In Bosnia, Europe blocked Clinton proposal to lift the arms embargo against the BiH Government along with massive airstrikes against the Serbs because it fear it would lead to retaliation against the UNPROFOR.

Clinton came into office as two genocides took place on the planet, one in Bosnia the other in Rwanda, big difference being the media was in Bosnia. I think Rwanda was much worse off, and the evidence was clear there. They could have stopped both
