I cried so hard at this movie. I couldn't imagine being trapped in there...any part like that in a movie makes me start shaking and crying. Like in Pearl Harbour, with the sailors who were trapped...God I hate it...The fact that both are true stories just makes it worse...
It's "Rogue" wave not "Rouge" wave. "Rouge" is make-up women wear on their cheeks. It would actually be pretty funny to see a "rouge" wave, all red and shit, lol.
nightvisionmonocular, I live not far from Gloucester. And yes, you are right. The buoys , I think up be Cape Sable Island or up by the Flemish Cap (Iforget) read almost100 feet. 90 something.
I saw something on Discovery Channel where they were speaking of Rogue Waves. This movie was used as an example. Speculation was that there are indeed waves which can reach 100 ft in height. This was done through seisemic (sic) testing and readings.
Was pretty interesting especially if you are a fan of this move, which I am.
rogue waves are very real so you shouldnt be skeptical as getting that big isnt likely but rogue waves are huge and will make u piss ur pants scientsts say on average they get to be 90 ft which from the scale in the movie it was potratyed as 150ft im guessing
The book is also very well written, very thorough in its technical descriptions and it certainly gave me a nervous respect for the sea I didn't have before reading it.
meaning they would have had to survive in 50 foot seas and gale force winds for days. even if they had a lifeboat, thats still a tall order. I do feel sorry for the crew that they died and their families, but at least in my opinion, it really wouldnt have made a difference. The water was freezing, and a lifeboat in 50 foot seas wouldnt stand much of a chance
