@jackiedegracia He means they can't take a truly controversial stand, and they don't, because movies that are ACTUALLY controversial don't make money. Name for me a movie that, in your mind, took serious risk with its subject matter.

Movies are afraid to take a political stand? What?
What fucking movies are you watching, Penn? Or rather, which ones are you not watching? There isn't a movie or TV show in existence today that isn't up on a soap box. It's part of the reason I can tolerate so very little of it anymore.
I love Penn but that's the biggest load of Bullshit, pardon the pun, I've ever heard. Hell, he should do a show about it. On a +note, one thing I took away from this interview is what he said about cynicism.

That is sad about Isaac Hayes. I never knew about his ties to Scientology. Cults like that tare lives apart. You can see that Trey is genuinely sad about losing his friend. I am glad that he is true to himself in the end.

It's amazing that Trey is so genuine after all this success, I really respect both him and Matt. Penn is great too even though I completely disagree with his politics, you gotta respect his honesty.
