After a failed attempt to watch the arrival of the circus train, I was able to save the day by watching a rather secret operation. Word was shooting up the grape vine on the BNSF DS-16 radio channel, that a Union Pacific train needed clearance into Roswell. (which IS the old Rock Island main) My dad and I knew imediately that it was the UP local out of downtown Colorado Springs. Powered by GP40-2 number 1349. In this video, we catch the local on its way to work with 2 loads, and the old restored D&RGW caboose. The train is then caught dropping the 1st load in a small spur behind Filmore Street. Then it is off the Rock Island Main, onto the former AT&SF main, across Filmore Street, and into an industrial complex to drop its last load. Then back to Roswell it is, as the train is seen passing under the Nevada Street bridge. Though since I ultimately wanted this vid to be all about the circus train, it isn't a complete failure, as I decided to put in a short clip of the UP Nixon train passing by with the circus train in the background. Rate. Comment. Subscribe. ENJOY!!!
@trainsruleandroll Thank you. Yeah I guess that's what I'm trying to say. The local is hard to get

Yeah, local ops aren't really a secret, but it is tricky to catch. Good shots, man. I've yet to catch the local at either of those crossings.

@JoMaVEX Yea caboose action is really getting hard to come by. Even with a locomotive of that age
