A tribute to Mannheim. Something I've wanted to do for years. Believe it or not, this song was the first piece of electronic music I ever heard and at the same time, the first laser show I ever saw (I was 5). Ever since then I've always wanted to do this (also found my love for techno/trance). Our club started planning this in June. The origional plan was to have 2 lasers, the light effects on a truss system, strobes, par-cans and four 6 ft tall christmas trees each lit with different colors to be run on an 8 channel DMX board (to allow for either 8 different melodic visualized notes or 4 harmonized visual notes[you'll see what I mean next year ^_^]). Either way, the goal was to have each note/instrument of the song visualized (inspired from Wayne Lytle's "Animusic"). With the exception of the laser there was no programming involved in this show. It was done live by 2 people (myself on the effects, Vann on the rail lights)on an 8 channel SC-8 board. Ghetto? yes, but then again so is Averett. This was probably the most happening thing on campus that night to be honest if you count out your everyday drinking parties. The school cut our funding and wouldn't give us a site for the lights so we did it on the balcony of my apartment. It was origionally intended to be outside in a commons area with a 400mw laser doing the melodics (no need for fog). All said and done, the show cost us $20. Campus security shut us down about an hour into the show in a manner that was very rude and uncalled for. Special thanks to Vann, Liz, and all the members of A^3 (Averett Anime Association) for making this possible. The One next year will be 50 times better I promise.
it is too boring. :(

You should keep your eyes peeled for this year's then man. This one is going to be excellent. I will have to agree with you on the boring part. We didn't even run it off of DMX thus we only had 8 channels to work with. This year, we have 100 channel DMX board along with the adition of a 40mw laser. You'll love it.
