  • That stuff about Non-GM Crops actually requiring more fertiliser is untrue.

Also the bit about renewables not being able to power everything is also wrong. All of Finland, all of Norway and all of Tasmania are run on renewable energy!

    Do your research next time!

  • @Salsien

Private Health Care, along with Private Schools are NOT private. They rely very heavily on the Australian taxpayer to prop them up, often by the working poor who rely on the public system. They are paying through the tooth to send rich kids to 'private schools', and their parents to 'private hospitals'.

  • These comments are more left than Soviet Russia.

GM crops are necessary to avoid disease. Nuclear Power is necessary, and avoiding it is a stance based on fiction created on the big screen with little fact to back it up. I would be more concerned about my view than radiation if a nuclear powerplant was in my backyard. Renewable energy is unreliable. Tasmania is more like Europe than the mainland in it's landscape.

And making private hospitals cost more = more people in public system.

  • @teslaglobal

oh sure, blame the presenter. cap'n caps lock

  • @JessClearwater Depending on what kind of renewable energy your talking about... now for wind, solar and tidal... they won't power the nation's energy needs. Geothermal if we had enough sites would, hydroelectric if we built enough of them...

    GO NUCLEAR!

  • This ad is very well made, but the pro-Greens ad just blew me away.

  • @vivefemmes as someone who votes labor, i juts wanted to say vivefemmes that is incredibly simplified argument.

subsidising the private sector takes the pressure of the public system, making private health care and schooling more affordable. also the funding that goes to private school is a tiny fraction of the whole.

  • GM CROPS CAN FUCK OFF!!

  • GM CROPS CAN FUCK OFF!!

  • I think some people are taking this a little too seriously. Remember it was made for a tv show as a demonstration of HOW you might go about attacking a party like the Greens. On that basis, it's a good ad. It attacks the party through their policies, not slander, and isn't patronising. Yes their information was inaccurate but if it were an actual political ad you'd expect their research to be more thorough.

Don't forget that many of the people who worked on this were Greens voters themselves.

  • @JessClearwater

It says chemicals, which is true considering one of the main functions of genetic modification is to make plants that are either resistant to herbicides or. produce pesticides from within the plant, the second of which, means less chemicals and both meaning larger yields.

Also, those places are reliant on Nuclear and hydro power, both of which the greens have opposed in the past. All three places also import electricity from Coal stations eg. Basslink

    Do your research next time!
