It's amazing that I still meet many people who dislike 2001 because it's long, it's quiet (this is not a sci-fi bombast film) and it's very mysterious, particularly the ending. But to me, the fact that this movie is a mental puzzle and doesn't explain everything is a big part of why I love it so much.
