hi Meissoon, thank you!! many countries have balancing dances with baskets, jugs, a etc objects of everyday activities, sort of gloryfying the mundane. They also show off th e dancers skills the movements in this dance are not specific to any area although there is a strong north african bias and the music is egyptian, so the answer is yes it is based on folklore in general with an emphasis on theatricality rather than authenticity
