The wreck in this video has been known and dived for many years. Often it is covered in a drift of sand which has hidden its true identity until 2010. As part of the Hants & Wight Trust for Maritime Archaeology 2010 survey programme it was dived and surveyed at a particularly opportune time with good visibility and sufficient of the wreck exposed to establish some fundamental dimensions and detail that has almost certainly identified it to be the Saxmundham a british steamer which sunk as a result of a collision on 4th November 1918.
The Saxmundham lies at a depth of about 40m.
