An idol is an image or other material object representing a deity to which religious worship is addressed or any person or thing regarded with blind admiration, adoration, or devotion. (Definition, look it up) google Idol
Isaiah 42:8 - I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my "praise" to graven images.
You have no excuse and nothing but your opinion. The Lord has spoken.

true, satan is the father of lies, but as you say to me, I say to you, You have been deceived! but as God respects our free will you go your way and I shall go mine and as a Catholic, I will NOT be rude to you as some of you people are to our Holy Church so, my friend, If God permits, may we one day meet in Heaven Have a nice day!!!

FYI, Veneration does Not equal Worship of an idol. The Protestants that accuse Catholics of doing this are breaking the Ninth Commandment: Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness. How many protestant saints are there? Jesus was incorruptible in the tomb as David prophesied, and there is evidence of this today in the incorruptible bodies of the saints. We venerate their bodies bc it is God's will, but we know they are Not God. They witness that Jesus is the God of the living and they belong to His body.

I don't know of any priest or religious ever teaching Catholic children that statues or pictures of saints are to be worshiped as God.This kind of propaganda only exists in the minds of Protestants and the misinformed. Did you not know God commanded the images of angels to be put on the Arc of the Covenant? Do ya think the ppl back in the day thought the images were God? NO ! Enough already with bearing False Witness about Catholic's actions. The only one you're impressing is the devil. Stop it !

The 2nd Commandment is very clear about not making idols of things from Heaven above and to not bow down or worship them. It doesn't matter how "beautiful" the craftsmanship is. Idol worshipping is idolatry.

THIS IS SO UNBELIEVEABLE ! IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND WHO EVER DON'T BELIEVE IN CHRIST THEN YOU WONT BELEVE IN THIS

AUUUUUUUUGH!! THESE STUPID PROTETANTS JUST DONT GET IT!! HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HAVE EXPLAIN TO THEM ABOUT THE SAINTS, AND THEY JUST DONT GET IT HELLLLOOOOOOO THEY INTERCEDE FOR US, HOW ,THEN DO YOU EXPLAIN THE THOUSAND UPON THOUSANDS OF FAVORS RECIEVED BY THEM THROUGH THE YEARS!!

@allemanb – You wouldn't venerate a photo of your family, or carry it in procession, or kiss it, or pray before it would you?? In the same way no such accord should be given to images, idols, statues or whatever name you want to give to the items used widely in precisely such manner by Catholicism world wide. All such images, and the veneration thereof are strictly and repeatedly forbidden to servants of the Lord God.
Statues in the Catholic churches are not idols. They are beautiful reminders, just the same if you were to keep pictures of your family in your house. Are those idols? Of course not. They are reminders of the ones you loved. And so it is with religious pictures, art, or statues. And to lifeschild, it is your choice and FREEDOM, to believe. But we have the same right to believe.

@liduq never did the Church teach Chris is NOT REALLY the only savior. Show me a document where they taught that! you totally dumped Christ's words @ Matt 16. You have no faith and no trust in Him. You made your religion so comfortable for you so that you dont have to do confession, eucharist, confirmation, etc. You stepped out of the truth. Which is sad. anyways i won't debate anymore. Pax and God bless!
