After years of occupation and deprivation, the people of Holland finally have something to cheer about: liberation. Town by town, the Canadian army is pushing the Germans out of the Netherlands, freeing the Dutch and bringing the war closer to its conclusion. But there is anger alongside the euphoria. In this Canadian Army Newsreel, citizens bent on revenge publicly shear off the hair of Dutch women who were Nazi collaborators.

  • @fuhmeregan and never forget russia started the war on the side of the nazis invading poland in 1939. it was britain and commonwealth countries that stopped the naiz for 2 years before operation barbarosa.

  • @Tesseract1976 Why did you post two comments? And I'm a racist now am I? The only negative comments I leave are directed towards Islam. Please let me know what "race" Islam is. Or maybe you feel that I'm attacking Muslims. Please let me know what "race" Muslim is. And please refrain from using words that you don't understand. There is nothing wrong with me exercising my freedom of speech to criticize a fascist, totalitarian ideology that was founded by a pedophile that had sex with a 9 year old.

  • @CanadaSavesTheDay

You are absolutely right! But the whole europe is realizing was is happening. I only hope it is not too late...

  • Canada savestheday is nothing by an 18 year old troll. You can see every comment he leaves is a negative racist one. People like him have a special place in hell. Canada and Netherlands - Brothers in Arms

  • @CanadaSavesTheDay

You are a disgusting piece of trash. Take your views elsewhere nobody cares or wants to hear them. I won't respond back so you may as well just read this and move on.

  • I'm Canadian but of Dutch descent. My grandparents came over from the Netherlands after WWII. My Grandpa was actually from the Northern Netherlands, the worst spot hit by the Germans, so it's really eye-opening to see what he would have went through. LEST WE FORGET.

  • as a Canadian we should not forget the brave Dutch underground who tried everything and did not give in even during that horrible winter

  • greeting from canada eh
