He is Dutch, plays for them, and was born there. He does however have Morrocan parents is a Muslim too.

his parents are maroccan people that live in the netherlands, even long before affelay was born, so affelay was born in the netherlands, so he is a dutch football player

But i don't understand something here. He is Dutch. He was born in Holland and he plays for the Dutch national team. Why are people saying he is Moroccan? Why doesn't he play for the Moroccan national team then? Can someone who knows more about Afellay explain this because i'm having a hard time understanding the discussion :)
