  • We recently switched from ClamXav to Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac Home Edition.

  • so does mac get vrius

  • @eminem31335 - Unlikely, but possible. Still a good idea to run protection. ClamXav is now available from the Mac App Store and is free.

  • @TransparentFeces, thanks for your comment. Anyone interested in learning more can search Google for "Sophail: A Critical Analysis of Sophos Antivirus" and they'll find at the top of the listings Tavis Ormand's critical analysis PDF and Sophos' response. Having examined the info, I'm still comfortable running Sophos on our Macs. We find it useful when PC viruses arrive, even though they don't effect our machines, so we don't pass them on, and also for identifying Malware-infected websites.

  • Sophos makes your computer actually MORE vulnerable.

Look for the "Mac Virus / Malware Guide" on MacRumors to learn more about viruses and Malware.

And while Mac OS X can get infected with a virus in the future, it hasn't happened yet in the past ten years.

  • a mac is still a personal computer PC
