I decided to FRAPS a little bit in LOTRO with Max graphics and DirectX 11 turned on. Originally recorded at 1920x1080, but every time I converted the video, it was squished. So, here it is at 720p.

My computer specs:
AMD Phenom II X4 955 OCed to 3.6GHz
ATi Radeon HD 5770 x2 Crossfired
4GB DDR2 RAM
MSI K9A2 Platinum
850w PSU

  • thanks for sharing. sadly this engine is so out of date...

  • @Subtalvik2 Does it really matter? If you want to go that far, we can say things like: wow is an mmo that came out before this, so this is copying it. Wow has character creation, quests, etc. wow has spells, wow has options...... really? this is not the same code, they made it themselves, just because there are spells and the spell bar is at the bottom mini-map on top right with quests under it does not make it exactly the same. I am a wow fan, but god, stop comparing things like this to it.

  • The HUD looks exactly like WoW's HUD.

  • amazing in hD

  • @goldatra3 Turbine changed there ISP with F2P they have more players with lower bandwith.

  • @MrLe0x

I don't think any expansions are included in the F2P account. You need to buy the expansions from the LOTRO store afterwards

  • Just started playing (free-2-play) a couple of days ago. Used to play AoC and yes the gfx are better in AoC but also require a much faster PC (and dx10 is stil bugged) .

I run LOTRO with all gfx maxed out 1900*1200 on a MSI 6870 (vsync, tripple-buffering) and get constant 62 fps... CPU is an old core 2 duo @ 3.6ghz and 4 gb DDR2 ram.

  • This game obviously lags for no reasons.

  • i wanna pimp out my comp toooo!

  • @LegitBowl No, I think he's just subjective
