  • Crorp style bands = boring

i know cause i was in one of the best

but then i went to BCU and now that's an entertaining band to watch and be in

i mean what was that at 3:53? anyway wow this band needs to get good...

  • which corps band are you referring to?

Well the Beaumont Central Band is now a show-style band and was surprised at how small they were this past year.

They have been entertaining but numbers have been dropping.

  • central was corps style until '99 when we got the new band director from southern my senior year

  • How did y'all do your 3 years as a corps band ratings wise (marching, concert, sightreading) if you remember?

  • i am currently a member of BCH marching band under the direction C. Collins what i see here on this video is great. music is my passion and i enjoy it in every form there is. now the way central performs has given the school and the city of Beaumont recognition. Central gets recognized for the legacy Mr. Collins has created over the years and to see alumni bash our style really displays their lack of loyalty to their Alma matter.

  • Odd that French before the merger with Slaughter & Cantu and at Central afterwards were AWESOME! As part of the 2nd class of Central we were I and II division at U.I.L. We also had 315 members in the Marching Band. The halftime show is NOT for entertaining the uneducated masses, it's to show off the talent the school has and nurture young musicians to appreciate music. Personally I am embarassed by what the Central Band is demonstrating as a "Show band".

  • I saw this band at the playoffs. This isn't marching. It's gyrating and goofing off on the field. If it is on the map and on the w.orld amazing that garbage doesn't ever win state. What a joke

  • Guys there's nothing wrong with corp style. It just show true musicianship and precision. Those guys are actually good and i see today with BCH is good also. But this is not boring at all. Music is universal, dancing is universal, so I don't see the difference.

  • this is more mili-corp, a hybrid style of marching that was popular in the late 80's and early 90's...Dayton did the same thing in the mid 80's...and were AWESOME

  • I think you should shut up. Mr. Collins has put BMC on the map across the WORLD, not just Texas. Times has a changed and I'm more than certainly that one of these years they will go back to this BORING style that bore the crowd!

  • hey this was back when they where good.......... i went to png and that crap central calls music is a disgrace to the marching bands that actually work hard across texas............. time for a new director i think

  • Wow, *this* band hasn't existed in almost 20 years. I was there on clarinet.

    Entertaining doesn't mean good.
