she's actually best friends with the baby's mom Rose-tu. chendra may actually be having a baby of her own before long. they're trying to get the baby's dad Tusko to breed with her.

Always happy to pass along information about our zoo's animals. I've been volunteering up at the zoo for the last 5 years.
By the way, she also has a very sweet disposition along with being adorable.

Again, thank you. I corrected the information in the title and description. Also, I have several other videos from my day at the beautiful Portland Zoo. I posted a couple of them on the bats and penguins. My descriptions were brief, but correct me if I made error. :)

If I may, that one of our females, or cows (as h1596 commented earlier) and we call her "Chendra". She is much smaller than our other females because she was a rescue from the island of Borneo, where the Asian elephants run a bit smaller. She is a year older than our youngest of the heard, Rose-Tu, who is expecting a baby of her own this Fall. Chendra is a darling, isn't she?

She is adorable. We thought she was a baby elephant. We did not know that they were called cows; Thank you for educating us on Chendra.
