Series Finale

(Katie's point of view)

Dreams are over-shadowed by reality. They don't last long, but feel so good. You think it will never end. You think you'll be wrapped in them forever. Then, BAM. You open your eyes. The sunlight reaches your face. The flashes blind you. The voices screaming your name get mixed up with your thoughts. You realize what you did, what you left behind. You remember you are married, you have a son. What's his name? You forgot. You feel the tears coming. You FORGOT. Then someone mentions him. Alex. You feel so bad, it hurts. You have a husband; someone you loved and hurt so many times he had no choice to LEAVE. Brothers and parents who you probably scared to death too many times to count. You finally get to the car. Someone opens the door, and as quick as you can, you get in.

May 2, 2009 the day I came out of rehab. The day when I dropped out of happy mode and went back to good old reality mode.

That was 1 year ago. Things have changed since. It's...a good thing.

Today, I'm Katie the ex-wife of Damien.

It just happened. The divorce. From the moment I saw Damien again, I knew that I couldn't feel anything for him anymore. I knew that it was time to move on. We had had an impact on each other's lives. Without each other, I don't know if we would have made it this far. Probably not. I owe him so much.

But Marco is THE one. The one that I'll never get tired of seeing. The one that can make me smile no matter what happens. The one that can make me believe. The one that I love.

We divorced in peace, we didn't scream or anything. We just both knew.

Today, I'm Katie the mother of Alex.

We both wanted to have what was the most important thing to us. Our son: Alex. It took 2 months in court. We have shared custody now. I'm happy with it. That little boy doesn't need to grow up without both of his parents. He's walking now. He smiles and laughs all the time.

Today, I'm Katie the girlfriend of Marco.

With whom I'm taking my time. No rushing or anything like that. Taking every moment in and appreciating our youth.

Is this the end? No. It's just the beginning. Thank you for listening to me, thank you for being there. Now I have to go, but don't worry. I'll be fine. I promise. It's not going to be a fairytale; it's not going to be perfect. But I know, I'll find my way through it and out with a smile. I love you.

Dang. I really liked Damien and Katie together... Oh well, at least she has Marco.. You are such an amazing writer. You are talented beyond belief. You showed your talent by writing The Jonas Sister and the sequel. With english being your second language someone would think you would be unable to compare to the famous adult authors, but you do. Don't ever give up on writing. It may take you somewhere.
