Are house was maid out of brick so I guess that would explain a lot. My family was safe in the basement. I hope u guys were safe also. That event I think will never forget...... For the next 50 years.

For a long time I didn't want to see any videos about the tornado because my family and I were in its path. This video leaves me speechless. Around frame 34 is when it hit my area, (6th street, Glendale Gardens, Hillcrest). I know this for sure because of the water tower shown in the video. Prior to the tornado, I never knew the water tower was there because it was hidden by all the trees. Now, I see it daily out my back window. Even now, 10 months later, it still seems so surreal.

Best long coverage of the tornado out there. A little trick when you're in bad conditions. Use a pole, a car, or someones shoulder to steady the camera. I use a steadying plug in in Vegas to help if it gets too jittery. Overall, a nice job without the usual laughing and giddiness I hear in other vids when people are dying.

at 0:24 on the right side of the tornado.. That's what a significant tornado does to concrete structures.

@k4rbs Is that from Woods & Water?
I can't believe someone would be stupid enough to stand outside with their children, watching this monster tornado. Idiots.

@LelandPresley88 Thanks for your concern, but I am an Amateur Radio Operator and trained in spotting storms. At no point in time my family and I were in harms way. I had tracked that storm out if Mississippi and found a safe spot away from it on a hill at Woods and Water. I am well aware of what storms like this can do and watched what this one did to Tuscaloosa. This was a great learning experience for my family to see what unfortunate power mothernature has and the loss of life it had dealt.

Thank's for all of your comments. Hope I never have to witness something like this again, but if I do the video camera will be roling. I normally would have not done this, but with the training I have had I put myself in a safe viewing point.
