  • I think is better to watch the road instead the iphone

  • This has got to be proof that cars will soon be able to drive themselves.

I mean, if it can recognize the lanes and nearby cars THAT well, it's not much of a stretch to think that such sensory/visual data could easily be used for automated driving. And this is just what the iPhone can do, never mind a powerful computer.

Give it another decade, and I'd be real surprised if we aren't taking a backseat to self-driving cars.

Plus I'm SURE that such cars would be far safer than human drivers!

  • yeah guitar hero on the road :)

  • Fk the iPod, I want this on my window!

  • @baileal I've been perfectly up to date on that news. thanks tho.

  • @NikoKun Look this up in Youtube "Google Road Testing Driverless Car"

  • @NikoKun

Google has cars that have been on the road for at least a year that drives themselves. They have logged 140,000 miles with only one accident and that was when someone hit them.

  • Anyone knows what iPhone holder is that?

  • @NikoKun I'm sure we will see a limited version of automated driving vehicles in say Airport or special areas where there's no real variation to the locations or even hazards due to unexpected conditions. Basically, this engineering problem has been beaten to death but you are always going to have the driver ready to override the automated vehicle simply because limitation of AI in dealing with non-automated vehicle situations (not everyone will own an automated vehicle for some time).

  • With this app, there will be another group formed soon: "Mother Against AR Driving".

  • @DelicatessenFilms, Well aware of that. Google's got a pretty impressive automated car project going too..
