Runnin from the law is the life of a blues man dont let it get you down

I agree. The kid definitely has talent, but he does play repetitively and sloppy, and he sure is pretentious. 'I got more sadness in me, i'm just feelin' it'. LOL
The whole attitude thing going on, and seemingly another guitar for every gig, the custom made straps etc.
It's just too much! If he focuses on the music, he could be a really big guy in some years. The way he is going now, I'm afraid he'll end up like most other child prodigies and he'll be all but forgotten a few years from now.

And what about those clowns from Hanson? They started young AND found commercial success too. Prodigies?
-
Should ppl like Vai, Satriani and EVH count as prodigies too since they too showed talent when young?

Better to be filled with Blues than Hate at an early age. He is loved by his dad, so he doesn't have to find acceptance outside the family from kid's who come from broken homes or have no communication with their parents . There's two types of players , those who have to get as many notes out as possible fast, and the one who says it all with the minimum amount and most expression of each note and phrase. Remember to taste & chew your food before you swallow it whole.

the kid needs to put the flash aside and really learn his craft - study music, composition, theory, etc. he has already tasted early success, which can arrest artistic development. his musical growth appears thwarted - he's enamored with style over substance. but he's got time to develop his talent and skills, so good luck to him!

Many great blues players can express more with that one scale that any of the current "virtuosos" could ever hope to.
On the other hand, none of those blues greats had their parents pay for lessons... lol. I've a lot more respect for self-taught observers and imitators than these "prodigies" who had everything handed to them.

Same here brotha.

Jealous of an 8 year old... pathetic.
That's right. Such an over-rated kid playing sloppy guitar...

let him play, and if not let him VOLUNTEER at the bar.. as long as he doesn't handle the alcohol... and if the bar happens to make a generous gift to him for christmas, thanksgiving, easter, halloween.. and any other holiday they feel necessary.. then so be it... and they can even use it as a tax write off.. so eat it.
