Weather your group are successful or not in saving the HMVS Cerberus, & I hope you are, you should consider joining with the group trying to preserve the Oberon Class Submarine HMAS Otama in Westernport to help save our proud naval heritage.
As a tribute to those who have served, both ships should be saved. Those of us who haven't served owe respect and thanks to those who have, yesterday, today and tomorrow.

I hope sincerely that you are right and the HMVS Cerberus can be saved. Although I now live in the US, I was born at Hastings in Victoria. While in Scouts during the 60's and 70's I attended water activities at Black Rock and have fond memories of the Cerberus.
You mention the Geo Tech survey in 2003, that was about 5 years ago and I hope the deterioration has not changed the feasibility. I wish you well and would help in any way I could if it were possible.

They should have saved HMVS Cerberus when they had the chance, it's too late now.
They have been "talking" about saving it since the late 60's but they stuffed around & now the only one of it's type is gone...

There are 3 videos and a slideshow on the guns being removed in the website.

It is definitely NOT too late to save Cerberus. This was confirmed by the Geo Technical Study completed in 2003.
