Wow!!! I am a sociology major with a 3.9 GPA. Do you know what socialism is? I have studied it. It is designed to keep the rich and powerful from dominating the poor. This is known as the conflict theory. Different groups competing with each other and the rich and powerful dominating. Socialism is designed to ensure that the working class and the poor get a fair chance with resources. Jesus was a socialist. He believed in redistributing wealth to take care of the poor.

Social Security and Medicare are examples of socialist programs that work. The rich getting richer is not true socialism. This was a problem that was identified by Karl Marx; he was a true socialist. Martin Luther King Jr. had socialist beliefs. Just because they call it socialism in europe doesn't make it socialism. Socialism is designed to keep the rich from dominating the poor. If it doesn't work this way, then it is not true socialism, it is reverse socialism.

@jaquelineandrews we don't have capitalism here in America like we use to we have Fascism here in America but they like to call it free trade to the sheep. True cap is what we had before the fed were the market fix everything meaning the people. If you a good product people will buy it. Its hard if the government puts up to many regulations. Socialism sounds nice but it never works look at Europe and Greece for example.
