The Heartland Flyer was supposed to be a self-supporting daily service, KC to Ft. Worth via OKC, from Day One. Daily First Class Mail transport revenue would have covered operating costs with other revenue opportunities waiting in the wings. ODOT, and nobody but ODOT, prevented this -- stubbing the route at OKC, killing the Mail opportunity and making a subsidy case of the train.
Well, is it reasonable expectation to expect me to be content with DRIVING everywhere I need to go because Oklahoma has no other options outside of cars and buses? NO!!!

$20 million/year operating cost @ $20/ticket would require how many passengers annually ? (math)
