FIREFIGHTERS are tackling a large blaze at Wrexham's old Hippodrome.
Crews from Wrexham and Chirk, along with the aerial ladder platform, were called out just after 1pm to the fire on the ground floor of the building.
Henblas Street was cordoned off and shops nearby closed.
Crowds of onlookers watched as first smoke, followed by flames, billowed from the site.

As I understand it all of the studios and equipment for the original Wrexham FM were still in the top floor of the Hippodrome. That's a few grand's worth of gear right there... Bugger.
