  • Obviously you need to tune it, but yes it will run with a factory ECU. If you're running mild boost and your engine is mostly stock, better option would be to go with the Turbosmart Subaru Dual Port. Because it uses staged porting it will run the bypass port first hence perform like a BPV under normal street driving. Under load however it will open both ports venting the excess air to the atmosphere as well as back into the intake.

  • hey, i've got an impreza sti 2009, and i've got it all stock, can I put a BOV instead of using the stock one?, I been reading many things on forums people saying that is bad for your engine and stuff..

  • We have a model-specific Dual Port, valve for 2009 STi, which offers both atmo and recirculating functions. It's idea replacement of the factory unit and will play nicely with the engine and all the sensors.

  • wat size blanking plug is used..??

  • i have problems putting the bov on the recirculate tube

  • hey, ive got a 05 wrp10 and its got a hks blow off valve with a front mount intercooler, i want to put a stock blow off, would i be able to put it on the front mount intercooler or do i have to put an adapter or modify it? thanx

  • @Turbosmart66 i have a 05 sti with stock with only a cold air intake but i just put a turboxs bov on and everything is still fine,, could you explain to me how this could hurt the car

  • @unluckykid256932 causes car to run rich. If not tuned right the mass air flow sensor get's wrong air flow reading and in turn dumps more gas into the car. I mean it is not a terrible thing actually it is a good thing if your gonna be turning up the boost on stock application. Cause gas acts as a cooling agent and will keep the bottom end cooler with the more gas to compensate for the increase in heat. Don't listen to that first kid he is just mad he doesn't have one.

  • @visionit2007 correct that is why you tune a car to cope with it. There goes your answer to that. That is like saying a supercharger doesn't belong on a car it can as long as you make it compadible.

  • @visionit2007 just take off the stupid CAT converters.

  • @axel91daniel If its made for the WRX, then yes, use the BOV, it will not damage your engine in any matters.

  • it's just a BOV...why would it hurt your engine if ur already turbo'd? slap that sucka on there!

  • For vehicle with sensitive MAF sensors we recommend a Dual Port which uses its recirculating port under normal driving conditions and only opens the atmospheric port under high boost. This is not to say you can't install a full atmospheric BOV on a WRX, you just need to do it properly and tune it.
