Roy Budd, the English Lalo Schifrin - delivering big-time. Words can't quite grasp the sublimity of this theme. The version with the train/station effects 'put back in' is hair-raising. Caine's finest hour in a great film. Budd encapsulates the excitement, meanness and hard attitude of 'Jack in a place he spent a lot of time and effort to get away from'/ no nonsense real 'hard bloke sorting things out' atmosphere in the grooviest of ways.

Has anyone else noticed that the hitman who shot Carter is with him in the carriage on the train up North?
