Fish Farm Fight

BC's wild salmon fishery has been on a massive decline for the past two decades.

Some point the finger at BC's fish farms off the east coast of Vancouver Island, something the salmon farmers reject.

And there was a showdown today.

We present two stories. One from each side's perspective. /A\ News reporter Brent Shearer spent the day following the activists, who confronted salmon farmers in a staged protest near Quadra Island today.

But first /A\ News reporter Gord Kurbis spent the day with the operators of that salmon farm. They say it provides jobs and is a boost to the local economy, and that the protesters don't have their facts straight.
