@DazzaMR2 i agree im 14 and i cant swim because my dad was too paranoid to teach me, anyways i think if your worried about not getting back up then maybe you should stay in a shallow end of a pool

The most important thing for me was to understand that the reason I could not float was because when tense or prepared for exercise, your muscles become dense/contracted ready to pounce and this higher density makes you sink. Now, I can't sink- my problem is getting down to swim under water.

I'm 50. I just stopped cycling because its too dangerous in England- the establishment are trying to kill cyclists, because they don't pay any tax.
I could not float nor go underwater. Lying on my back in water or going into deep water terrified me. I took adult lessons where I was the worst of 6 students. A few simple explanations and 10 lessons later I can swim a length in front crawl whilst breathing. I can float on back or front and tread water.

dude i am 13 and i cant swim since i was litte
im 21, carnt swim never learned atall, i have good fitness levels and i can hold my breathe under water for quite long in the bath so in thoery i should be a good swimmer but its just a fear of going under and not being able get back up to the surface so scary but ive promised myself start of next year im going have swimming lessons, ill crap it but i got learn swim now cause i love water, and water parks, and beaches really would be amazing, wish me luck! :o), kind regards...
