Angers West? What the fuck? I am sure that the people of Germany, France are very happy that Russia and South America have a good relationship. At least here in Austria a huge minority does not like the strong US pressure against socialist countries like Venezuela - who have a right to decide for themselves, in which system they want to live in.

Why is it that foreign observers of Venezualan politics cannot allow themselves to come to terms with the fact that Mr. Chavez is not only the elected leader of that country, but is an enormously popular leader?

This is a really sad and telling intellectual failure on the part of 99% of non-Venezualan Chavez bashers on the internet, the overwhelming majority of which hail from countries which not only have unpopular leaders with minority governments, but are bitches of Washington. How sad.

Everything a Russian does angers someone in the NATO world, or "the West" as it is often inappropriately hailed.

It must be an empowering feeling for an ordinary Russian to realise that just getting up in the morning is more than enough to antagonise all manner of reactionary elements around the world.

I'm glad Medvedev visited Colombia, he should visit Cuba next. Hell who not visit all the authoritarian goverments around the world. The US will visit the Baltic States, Ukraine, Georgia, Poland, Chezh Republic and all the future EU and NATO states.
