@zaphodtrillian I figured you for a Leftist with your anti-Southern rhetoric and claims about slavery. Now you pull out the race card. You have adopted the Left's playbook whether you realise it or not. You do not have a traditionalist mentality. If you are indeed a Spanish person with Carlista ancestors they would not identify with views today. No wonder you hate the South. lol

@RedShirtArmy I was born "uncivilised" that meas I do not exercise double standards like you do.
On one vid you like Catholic Carlists as long as they are from Europe but on another vid you have, you drop hints about Mexicans coming to the USA as undesirable. Racism is hardly Christian friend- besides the USA scored half its southern lands by blackmailing and extorting them by holding Santa Anna hostage (throwing a few $ later at Mexico did NOT legitimise this act of barbarity.

@zaphodtrillian Since you are obviously an uncivilised person who resorts to cursing and who has no grasp of Southern history I will not correspond any longer with you. I will say though that I never asserted that any Carlist monarch formally aligned with the South. I said that many Carlista volunteers came to Dixie and fought along side Southerners, not for slavery, but for self-determination and a classical Western civilisation against our common foes.

@RedShirtArmy Im sure you have many friends. I am from Navarre and my family have fought and been part of the Carlist Cause since its inception.
Why dont you support your assertions with academic references? So what if the pope corresponded with your president? IT MEANS NOTHING.
I know your cause stood for slavery either that or your in denial is that the case? No current or historical Carlist monarch formally aligned themselves with you.
Try your bullshit on kids not Requetes

@zaphodtrillian I have Carlista friends who would disagree with you. The fact that you consider the Southern cause to be one of slavery shows how little you know on the subject. You may know about modern Carlism but obviously not much about the historical links between the classical civilisation of the South and its friends and allies in Europe (including the Pope at that time - he was a pen pal of Jefferson Davis and was the only sovereign to recognise the CSA).

@AXS512 Dear AX As a post graduate student of history and hailing from a family still involved in Carlist politics I throw my weight behind your statements.
I wish also make the statement that the vanguard of CARLISM is and was from the north- that means NAVARRE, WHICH WOULD NEVER support any form of slavery. We are also the vanguard of radical Jesuit theology holding the worth of all humans before god. This video is disgusting offence to all Navarrese/Basque Carlists Catholics
PURE LIES

@AXS512 I have lived in Spain and have Carlista friends. From what they tell me and from my own study on the subject, the number of Carlistas fighting for the South was not insignificant. I'll try to find some way to verify this and post another video on the subject. You're right that the South was mostly Protestant before the recent flood of Mexican immigrants, but there were some Catholics and President Davis (of the CSA) was friendly with the Pope & the Catholic Church.

Nice video, but pure fantasy.Any Carlist's fighting for the South could be counted on one hand.Carlist's were/are devout Catholics. In those days almost all Confederate's were Protestants (yes there with French Louisianans, and some Irish, but thats it for Catholics). Most Carlist soldiers were rural, and would have known nothing about the South or its cause. The image of "thousands" of Carlists, not speaking English, somehow getting money to cross to America to fight,is laughable.

@RedShirt I am so interested on the uniforms which were used bay Carlistas volunteers during the american civil war, I hear that some of them wore the red beret during the battle. I am so interested on the carlist history, wherever it happened. I come from the Maestrazgo, area between the South of Aragon and North of Valencia, an important opperation field of the Carlist (the famous Cabrera General).

Great video. I am a carlista from Madrid, Spain. Did not know about carlistas fighting besides Dixies. Viva España!!
