jonsi: animal arithmetic (encore, pt 1 of 2)

*please note*: much like seeing sigur ros play at berkeley in 2008, the experience of being at this show was something no recording device could have captured. though my nikon s700 (a point-&-shoot digital camera) made a valiant effort, it didn't come anywhere close to doing jonsi or his band justice; the more epic and extraordinary the sound was in the moment, the worse it sounds in these recordings.

just keep that in mind.

i managed to shoot *most* of this performance: someone behind me objected to the light from the screen after the first song, and i missed a bit while trying (unsuccessfully) to turn the monitor off. eventually i managed to use the camera case to block the light, and left the camera running on the rail in front of me for the rest of the show.
