I try my hand at a little placer mining in Alder Gulch above Virginia City Montana. Found nice color by my standards and got to try out my little sluice.

  • great video

  • I enjoyed your video, my husband and I use to spend a week camping up there every summer, we mainly panned for garnets but I have some gold flakes from those times

  • I have a tool that creates very high vacuum underwater, much higher than any small dredge now being used to look for Placer Gold, I am looking to talk to someone with experience in this area. You can see the tool if you do a search for "Barton abrasive removal tool" where you will see it being used to vacuum fine solids (garnet and expended media) from water filled tanks. email if interested placergolddredge@yahoo.com

  • do you know the difference between the large flakes in the gulch if it is gold or pyrite

  • well done on this video, that was a lot of dirt to move but gold is what you were after and you got it! thanks for the post.
