I renounced my citizenship 3 years ago after it became obvious that the US is trying to intergrate the country into the globilized world at the expense of the prevailing culture and identity. The US likehas been far too preoccupied with doing well in the temporary world economy than preserving the culture and identity of that country, a crucial part of any country's social cohesion. The US is selling itself out to corporations and without a unified culture is doomed to fail in the long run.
