He knows that he owes a good part of his success to his former part in Coheed, but he says on the Weerd Science facebook page that this is where his heart lies (or something to that effect) and I can respect that. Plus, I can't hate on Pennie cuz that guy's such a smooth drummer.

where is the part that he talks about coheed

@Bigbadbobguy Meh. There was something incomprehensible occurring within the band that seeded itself early on and grew stronger as time passed. From sstb to iksse3 you can hear and feel the exponential increase in (insert word here). Then GAIBS4:1 is just a prime creation, totally their peak. Then NWFT comes and you start hearing fillers, like forced material. I think their multi-album deal with Columbia, and their lack of patience has alot to do with it. The new stuff still has that magic

@nunrgtrance2 sorry this is my other account, im still Shchphinkter11
-
@nunrgtrance2 giving them a place to place let them grow as a band it certainly did not start them and the beats? dude its a prog rock band, no doubt he had unique beats that can only be defined as coheed but with prog rock you gotta change, it cant always be the same, have you heard YOTBR? nothing like old coheed but still amazing, bottom line is im glad hes gone cause pennie is a nuts drummer and only one capable to fill Eppard's role
-
@Shchphinkter11 Actually he had a major role in getting Coheed started, by providing a place for them to practice for a straight year and finding a good recording studio to record in when Equal Vision gave them only a 3k budget to record with. So yea, Josh was pretty important bro. P.S. have you heard the unique beats of the first 3 albums. I mean COME ON. Josh is the man.

whoa whoa whoa man I'm hoping you just had a little typo there saying before he started coheed i hope you mean IN coheed cause josh did NOT start coheed that was all claudio and travis when they were kids growing up playing guitar together then shabutie gave way to coheed and cambria which was a story CLAUDIO thought of on a trip to Paris, Josh had no part in STARTING the band, he just joined it

What does getting your ass beat in school have to do with being a good drummer? As for leaving coheed, we all wish he was back in but if you really like him as much as you people say you do, you should respect his decision to do whatever he wants
