Barbara Coloroso is featured on Anderson 360º to discuss 11 year-old Jaheem Herrera, who hanged himself last week after being taunted at his elementary school outside of Atlanta just a week after the suicide of 11 year-old Carl Joseph Walker-Hoover, who also hanged himself after being bullied at his school in Springfield, Mass. Barbara Coloroso is a speaker, anti-bullying coach and author of: The Bully, the Bullied and the Bystander about what parents, teachers and kids need to know right now about stopping this cycle. Today, 39 states have anti-bullying laws on the books. Many schools around the country have zero-tolerance for bullying. But do they make any difference? Coloroso says no.

  • "simply" has to get around these problems? Oh, that's rich. Richer than syrup. You must be young. So we all have it eqaually tough, huh? Some people are born with a condition that jumbles up their words when they read. And some people are born with schizophrenia which makes them hear voices, see things that aren't there and have very lttle sense of reality. Some are born with freckles and some are born with no legs. So don't hand me your crap about how we all have it equally rough.

  • May God bless this precious little boy, Jaheem Herrera, and comfort his beloved friends and family. We will never know what a shining light he would have been in this world, but hopefully he was here just long enough to make a positive difference in all of our lives.

  • she just went to our school, it still doesn't help.

  • I agree about the importance of the role of the bystander, and students do need to feel they're safe when they're at school. I think or kids these days have been desensitized to some extent by video games, the media, etc. and we need to work on restoring empathy. I invite you to check my channel for the video trailer for my bullying book Hot Issues, Cool Choices.

    Thanks!

  • Fuck schools teachers dont give a fuck. and fuck restricted education.

  • My mother came home hours after the assault and found her daughter unable to wake up; when she held her face in her hands she could feel large welts on her head. She was taken to the hospital and my mother was told she had a concussion caused by a beating. That is how she found out about her daughter

  • My sister was then called into the office. She was bruised and crying and she asked if the principle wouldn't tell my mother (she thought SHE had done something wrong). The principle did NOT contact my mother in regards to this assault. My sister is 13 years old, this was not right; my sister was rushed to the hospital after this had happened.
