  • Black was wrong The Pixies did change the Rock and Roll

  • Incredible upload. I've watched this at least ten times over the past few months. I do love the Pixies, but it's sad, looking back, that Throwing Muses never got the acclaim the Pixies did. At least not here in the U.S. Kristin Hersh, to me, is a front woman that comes along once in a generation, if that. Awesome lyricist, great voice and look. They should've been superstars. I rate Hersh up there w/ my musical idols: Dylan, Lennon/Macca, Morrissey. The world just wasn't ready for the Muses.

  • I really wish David Lovering would shut up for a second! Black Francis can't get a word in.

  • @YellowOnline I don't know... I think Kristin looks great here. I do think she got even better looking in the mid-nineties, though. Around the University album...'round then. Oh,and the video for "Firepile" from Red Heaven? My God! She was a friggin' bombshell, then! She was in her full flower beauty-wise. She's still an incredibly striking older lady. I'd still rather make-out w/ her than most girls twenty years younger. Them friggin' eyes. They don't age. And that laugh.

  • So I was wondering what the hell the Pixies were playing at about 3:15, then I heard the guitar part and knew it sounded naggingly familiar. Then I realized that they were in fact playing "Wild Honey Pie" from the Beatles' White Album and that they were screaming "Honey Pie"

  • It's worth signing up to Twitter just for the pleasure of following Kristin Hersh. Quite apart from having been a phenomenal singer and songwriter for over 20 years, she's one of the funniest and smartest people who ever lived, and everything she writes brightens my day.

And yes, Charlie Black, or whatever he's called these days, is extremely likeable in this clip.

  • @LizzziMerjanen Well put you are right

  • Two of the greatest Boston bands ever. College rock: that's how we do it

  • I really don't miss the 80s. Even Charles, David and Kristin (and Tanya?) looked bad back then. I'll always associate them with the early nineties even if they rose to fame at the end of the nineties - perhaps because without them the nineties would never have been, musically, as great as they were.
