Each side of the locomotive was painted in a different paint scheme for the movie to give the illusion of 2 different locomotives.

But the other locomotive in the almost collision scene had a yellow smokebox door, and the locomotive on the passenger train that the A #1 and Cigaret greese the rails to stop, has a SP looking paint scheme.

There was only 1 other locomotive used, which was the #5, a former Magma & Arizona Locomotive (2-8-0)
