Gordon Lightfoot - what a man - singing the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Warning: Just before the song ends the video cuts out because one of the ushers, apparently thinking that I was going to snap a picture with my camera, made me put it away - but man, there ain't no substitute for live, even if cut short.

  • We, of the United States Coast Guard did our best to locate any survivors. What we found were the ghosts of 29 crew members. Gordon, who is a good friend of mine, did his best to recount the events leading up to this terrible tragedy.

  • thanks for sharing, I'll never forget the chilling report that the ship and it's crew may of went down and then the later reports the Superior was to rough to recover the ship or any of it's crew members believed to all still be on board due to being hit without any warning that waters had turned angry. November waters we know survival was not likely due to many factors but mostly the temps of he water. Superior never warms even in our long, hot summer days.

  • sad sad sad great video love to all

  • what an awesome song

  • so apparently my friends dad wrote this song for Gordon Lightfoot. :O)

  • Talent isn't limited to a space, time or place. "Don't judge a book by it's cover". Sometimes you discover a great treasure between the pages. You just need to take the time to look and listen.

  • One of my all-time faves from the '70s...a truly powerful song.

  • I saw him once 3 years ago hear in Portland Or----still awesome! He played them all!

  • at least I am spared from people 'whooping!' on this version

  • @tworottz That's kind of sad. I wish you would have had a dad.
