  • The postwar fifties were as turbulent a time as any, and yet, looking at these series they appear to emanate such serenity - murder and intreague notwithstanding..:)

  • Mr. Rafiel wanted his son to go back and face whatever happened. It's why the house. What do you think? / When I was a girl, a lover meant a boyfriend or girlfriend. These days it means it's physical and can mean either party is only in it for the physical not the love. When MM says they were lovers, because it's a modern movie, I wonder what was meant? If they were taking the new or the old. Anyone? In those days a physical relationship meant something different. My vast opinion. lol

  • The small temple where the women speak must have been what American artitects(sp) copied for Jefferson's memorial in Washington D.C. I've seen it in other movies/ tv programs. Beautiful setting. I'd enjoy seeing it one day. Where is it?/ Verity. In french it means truth I believe. AC used it a few times I believe. I think I liked this story because I believe in evil too and AC puts it so plainly. Evil being the enemy of God. Which he created so we could know the difference.

  • @ellipsis000 I'm not English and only see their history from the outside. They had been at war for years before we(yanks) got involved. So much sacrifice we can't understand because we didn't go through it. Into the mid-50's they still had rationing trying to stabelize the country. It wasn't like here where our men came back home and got their jobs back and life went on. It was a blooming time for us. Not for England./ Oh dear. I thought Jane found him. He didn't come forward I don't think

  • He doesn't look like a street bum - his skin is too nice.
