This video contains images and footage of projects carried out in SketchUp by architect Paul Lee. Paul introduces his approach to using SketchUp to carry out 2d construction drawings along with his 3d models. This approach cuts down enormously on the time taken to produce quality drawings. The result is reflected in the buildings produced, client satisfaction, cost control, and harmony in the building process.

  • good example but I'm afraid you'using sketchup pro. I think its features are good and dpersonally I find layout usefull, though I'd never pay 500 or more euros to download and definatelly would not bother to find a cracked version. You see I'm a student so my budget is limited. Try incorporating cad, photoshop and sketchup. You'll get even better results

  • @kwstikos Hi thanks for the comments. You are right about using SU Pro. I should have mentioned that. I am very much in favour of the student having access to low cost software which is very much part of why I have such an interest in this great technology. You can purchase a Pro student license for $49/yr!

  • Wow, so nice! Terrific! This is so stunning. Impressive.

  • Sounds great! I will consider it

  • Just so people know, SketchUp is BIM etc. maybe you should look at it and see all the "Plub-in's" there are' and open-your-eyes' :o)

  • yep really good

  • @youngnewmanbyrne

    Of course he can.

Sketchup is way more powerful than you realise, yes its a fast way of putting together buildings n shapes etc but its capable of more than just for visuals, its used by professionals worldwide as it exports .obj files compatibile with Maya and 3D Max.

Your assuming what you see is the best it can do, its certainly not. When combined with the vray plugin, it looks FANTASTIC. If you doubt me, youtube it ;-), its photo realistic.

  • I like SketchUp. This is a good program, thanks to her I got good grades in college and graduated from college with honors

  • If you have a business in google sketch up than that sir, is very depressing.
