2nd video 98 Ford Expedition with the 5.4 ltr. V-8, pacesetter shorty headers, K&N full air intake system(FIPK), Cherrybomb extreme cat-back single 3" in dual 2 1/2" out with 3 1/2" polished stainless steel tips. interior sound actually is alot louder in person. the windows were down also.

  • @ctm9191 LOL! no i was in drive, the gear selector is off by one and i can't seem to fix it.

  • @JRLightning did u look under ur dash? if not look under u should see a black plastic gear with a red cable going to it, adjust that gear and ur selector will be fine

  • @JRLightning 4.6 nl mot5ors a really made 4 crown vics they only shuld b fa them which kicks out tramindis power fa the second gen vics 98 an up.

  • @fordwindsor351 Man! So is it a built motor then? No wonder your expy is making big power. I have the stock motor from the factory, never had any issues with it, The only mods I've put on mine are an K&N CAI with the heat shield for the filter, pacesetter shorty headers, custom flowmaster 40 series after-cat dualed out exhaust( Just had it installed last friday) A Throttle body spacer my trainer gave me(not sure what brand it is.) and a superchips computer tuner.

  • @JRLightning oh i forgot mentioning the ignition that the coils were changeed as well and also went into the computer to do some changing of the settings as in the timing, fuel pressure and a couple other settings that into todays cars, you cant do as you could in the 80s and beyond.

  • @JRLightning simple stuff 1st, cool air forced induction (activate at higher speed, otherwise its just like a common cool air type) , performance ignition chip/box, upgraded the intake and throttle body. better injectors along with a new fuel rail. Bigger things, new ford racing 3 valve heads, tri domed pistons to match up to the 3 valves. Dual exhaust with glass packs. I also took off the mechanical fan and installed an electric fan.

  • @fordwindsor351 yeah, i like my suv , it makes roughly 300hp I also have only a few mods, I wish mine could make your kind of power, but I would like to go a different route with mine. I would like to get a new 460 big block motor, and possibly supercharge it or turbo charge it.

    Can you tell me what type of mods you've done to your expy?

  • @JRLightning well understood, you can take 10 engines of the same family and at least one owner will be sad that they arent getting the power they feel that should be getting. I have a 98 expedition with the 4.6 and I have a few mods(mostly plug ins) and last checked it gave 360 hp at the rear wheels, far from the factory stock 215 which is not at the wheels.

  • @fordwindsor351 I'm not, I had a 98 f-150 with the 4.6, and it was very weak, no matter what I did to it, it didn't have that same results that i'm getting with the 5.4, i agree that the 5.4 isn't a beast for that year but it is a good motor none the less. like i've said to other people all thats needed is some bolt ons to wake it up.

  • @fordwindsor351 Mine does not weigh in that much, its around 4800, i only get mad if they are tailgating me and then they pass, I have the power needed to pass people no problem, i've had some work done to my motor. I choose whether or not i want them to pass me.

  • @JRLightning let them pass, hell you are in a vehicle that weighs around 5200 to 5900 depending on this and that, the expedition wasnt never ment to be what you want it to be if it gets you mad for being passed. You bought the wrong vehicle if you are worried of being passed, sell it and get a car thats around 1800 lbs less or more

  • sorry that you have the 5.4 in yours, the first two years of the expeditions, the 4.6 was the better engine, in 99 the 5.4 became the better having the upgrades done. the 97 and 98 5.4's had cheap heads and the ignition package was a pile of shit, im glad that for what ever reason the 4.6 ones got a different package. Im sure from the start it seemed like the 5.4 was going to be the beast but it failed.

  • @PIONEERaudioLOVER Thanks! it was mostly an idea i wanted to try if i had a chance to get a hold of a 460, another option is to find a wrecked lightning with a working motor and go that route, im getting tired of people always passing me like i'm standing still, it sucks!

  • @JRLightning good luck with that 460. i got one and tryin to do it and i have run into some major space issues mines a 2wd so that may give you a little more room

  • when i have it floored it shifts about 5000, ive done some mods to mine.

  • how high is that revving? can't really see the tach....I've never been able to get my mom's '99 4.6 past 4500
