  • @TomThumbsBlues1965 That's why I used quotes in 'better', and that's why I said IMHO which is short for 'in my honest opinion'. You know, that's what opinion and personal taste are all about.

  • @bkjamesdaking theyre two completely different styles, it wouldnt make any sense to call one better than the other

  • While Lou Reed and Bob Dylan's music have some similarities, and at time they were on the same wave-length, I think overall they are two entirely different artists. Bob Dylan took folk and country styles and updated them, mixing some rock n' roll in along the way, whereas Lou Reed was more concerned with making pure rock, and extending the definition of what rock could be. They were both powerful and poetic lyricists, but Reed's guitar style was waaaay different than Dylan's, and 'better' IMHO.

  • br00tal

  • lol! I laugh at all the idiots who think Bob Dylan or Lou Reed are gods that cannot be touched.

I am of the opinion that the Beatles quite frankly blew ass...what are you going to do about it? Tell me not to dare hate on them? pff...

  • holy fuck so damn horrible

  • @54markl

I think Dylan, the beatles, and the Velvet Underground, influenced their own genres, none really greater than the other. but some more compelling to their causes. to me Dylan is King. but I agree with your last message to an extent. Peace, but Dylan always was what he should have been. listen to infidels and tell me it isnt compelling

  • @poeticreject all right. Lots more people like Dylan than Lou Reed, so more people would probably agree with you. I likeed early Dylan very much, but I didn't think his later stuff was as compelling. Of course the same thing could be said about Lou Reed. A lot can be said for both, but Dylan is considered to be more influential (though reed influenced Alternative more). I don't hate Dylan at all. Iactually like the beatles more than either one, but it's all opinion and no cause for alarm.
