A quick demonstration of Shop Savvy's Bar Code scanning application for Android. This app really epitomizes what Android means for mobile.

  • lol this app can compare prices but some of store don't compare online prices it has to have local ad paper to compare price. such as walmart

  • @getqode

what the fuck are u taling about

  • I can't seem to find this app anywhere on the android market. Typed in shopsavvy and nothing came up.

  • NeoMedia Technologies grandfathered this technology back in the mid 90s and have been doing mobile code scanning and comparison shopping via barcodes long before any other company in this space.

NeoMedia has a rich patent portfolio that covers scanning barcodes with a camera enabled mobile device to connect to the Internet, comparison shop, and/or retrieve online content.

  • That's a good looking Aggie ring! Whoop!

the US Patent Office has rejected ALL 95 NeoMedia patent claims[...] Bascially, the patent office reviewed ex parte briefs filed by the Electronic Frontier Foundation and found a significant amount of prior art, arguing NeoMedia's patent claims were not novel.

  • NeoMedia respects the USPTO's findings & will leverage this opportunity to respond to the ruling & defend the patent that it believes valid under patent law. The company has been requested to respond to the USPTO by providing clarification & comment on the cited prior art references by Sept 3 2008. Based on prior successful patent defenses NeoMedia is optimistic that the single patent in question will be confirmed & the reexamination effort will have served to verify the strength of the patent.

there goes your boat, please don't be in it when it sinks.

  • I wonder if the creators of ShopSavvy know that they are in violation of NeoMedia's patents?
