I can't wholly support the "imitate the Civil Rights Movement" notion. Something went wrong there; we mostly got rid of the n-word, but we lost a lot of the substantive justice along the way. We still entertain numerous forms of slavery and near-slavery, cruel and unusual punishment, and implicit-but-firm racist policy and practice. We must do better than that. Woo isn't smallpox; rather than one all-encompassing inoculation, we must permanently incorporate protection against new outbreaks.
