A very great song written by Yoko Ono with the Plastic Ono Super Band and from the fourth solo album "Feeling The Space" in 1973.

This album is dedicated to the sisters who died in pain and sorrow and those who are now in prisons and in mental hospitals for being unable to survive in the male society. (Y.O 1973)

Yoko Ono: vocals, background vocals
David Spinozza: guitar, acoustic guitar
Ken Ascher: piano, organ, mellotron (Growing Pain)
Gordon Edwards: bass
Jim Keltner: drums
Michael Brecker: sax
Arthur Jenkins: percussion
David Friedman: vibes
Sneaky Pete: pedal steel guitar
Don Brooks: harmonica
Jeremy Steig: flute

"Straight Talk" (Ono):

You say youre well and satisfied
But your body tells me something else
What is it, baby? tell me, tell me
Speak up, give it to me straight
Or well never know what you think or what you want

She says shes truly gratified
But her voice tells me something else
What is it, baby? tell me, tell me
Speak up, give it to me straight
Or well never know how you feel or what you want.

Unless we teach each other what we really feel
How are we gonna communicate and get ourselves together?

He says hes never petrified
But his eyes tells me something else
What is it, baby? tell me, tell me
Speak up, give it to me straight
Or well never know what you need or what you want

Unless we teach each other what we really feel
How are we gonna communicate and get ourselves together?

Im watching your body talk
Im listening to your double talk
Straight talks the only way
Straight talks the shortest way
For you and I

Im watching your body talk
Im listening to your double talk
Straight talks the only way
Straight talks the shortest way
Then the world is one

(straight talks the only way)
(straight talks the shortest way)

  • ahh. i just remembered why i don't listen to yoko ono.

  • You can tell John's influence on her, not the vice versa as some people or John himself claimed...she might have been an inspiration to him but definitely not an influence in song-writing, at least at his best work.

  • get off the opidope yoko

  • great lyrics but not a good singer

  • Feeling the Space is Yoko's best album

  • !!!!!!!!! <3
