A CELEBRATION OF INSTANTLY CLASSIC DRUM TRACKS.
Playing to Let Our Garden Grow by the Bad Plus. My interpretation at least...It's not perfect of course.

NOTE: I did not write, arrange, or compose any of this song. This is simply for educational purposes. Let Our Garden Grow was written by Ethan Iverson and is performed by The Bad Plus (Ethan Iverson, Reid Anderson, and Dave King) and owned by its rightful owners (Columbia Records) from the album "Suspicious Activity?"

@Jazzdrum1210 I listen mostly to the song. It's important to realize that most of the Bad Plus' repertoire is based on a SONG form. It's also important to realize that they improvise on this song form. With those two things in mind, it makes tackling one of their songs a lot easier. In these situations, at least for me, melody is more important than rhythm. Learn the song form and become familiar with the melody, and you're probably two-thirds of the way there.

@wcx08 Also, practice improvising! It's an essential part of what the Bad Plus does. I was hesitant to put up Bad Plus videos because of the very fact that they're improvised, which means there shouldn't be a definitive version of it somewhere, especially in terms of the drums. I guess these videos are a better demonstration of learning to improvise over a song form rather than "how to play like Dave King."
