@unopeneddoor My only point is that most people - gay or straight - do not want true equality in marriage. Therefore, slogans like the Prop 8 one - "equality for all" - is simply not true.
-
So what difference does that make in the debate? You just committed a logical fallacy I hope you realize.
Whether we legalize Polygamy or incest marriages has no baring on whether gay marriage should be legal.
-
@unopeneddoor My point is that the so-called gay marriage issue is not about "equality for all." It is about equality for only one group - gays. Equality for ALL would mean marriage for any consenting adults. Very few people want that.
-
First of all wanted to say I'm very gay tolerant, but I am Straight.
Straight people have already ruined the sanctity of marriage, with quicky marriages and divorces. Brittney spears, Tiger Woods, and Elizabeth Taylor, among others, have made marriage a laughing stock. So how exactly is not allowing gays to get married "protecting" it?
-
You're an idiot. That is all.
-
i think anyone should be able to marry a consenting adult human as long as they want to.
What the hell is your point btw?
-
This is not about marriage equality. Most people who support that notion actually do not support marriages with multiple spouses (like polygamy), and consenting adult brother/sister marriages. So much for "equality for all"!
-
@dkandpistols and cares what it means today and tomorrow also.
-
@dkandpistols let "it" mean "something" what "ever" that would "be". Just make up your own word for it and leave the word "marriage" alone. It already means something. And that "something" is Man and Woman united together in Holy Matrimony.
-
@alan933 We are discussing a union between two consenting adult humans here. Not getting married to a different animal or an inanimate object. I believe the marriage between two humans that love each other means something.
