@kentohiomma well man you need to realize what the military does is combative training, not sport training. MMA is sport fighting and frankly, it's specifically meant for the ring. Combative training is real life fighting, meant for self defense. Obviously the two will cross at some point in training but MMA is sport. There's a reason out military doesn't train for sport.

Also yeah some of their techniques were a little sloppy but how long were they doing it before they could film a part? We all get tired with a continuation of a fight. And second Martial Arts is a way of life not just a sport to some people.

The United States Armed Forces are as a whole the greatest fighting force in modern history. Even still, I see alot of sloppy jiujitsu in these clips. The unarmed portion of their training doesn't stack up to what any civilian can get at a decent MMA school. Here's hoping that changes.

I have to say that you are right and wrong.. I've learned how to fight because of the marine corp. But i've also studied martial arts for 11 years. Never underestimate a marine cause you will be surprised at the training they go through for those 16 weeks.. Seriously..

@shredder710 Don't fool yourself . 16 weeks Basic training does NOT equal one Black Belt ! Not even a good green belt ! These boys are OK but They Better never Fuck with an Ed Parker Black Belt . Rent the Movie ,, The Perfect Weapon with Jeff Speakman to see the Huge Diffrence . Jeff is a 10 Degree Kenpo Karate Black Belt and one of the Most Lethal Fuckers alive ! You wanna have a REAL ( not false) sense of Security take Kenpo for about 10 years like I did and get your Black Belt .
