Saving for that fishing pole with S&H Green Stamps.

@Sgtrambom60 You may recognize them, but you can't remember them (from your childhood), because the song is about being young in the 1950's :)

@hoehawk99 I'm 26, and I'm fine living right now. Keep in mind, a decade ago internet was still new and cheap broadband wasn't available yet. By living now, we get both the great songs of the past, and the goodies of today.
As for today's music, let's just say I didn't listen to radio since 2006. MTV won't even enter the question, it was out the proverbial door long before that year.

What a wonderful video. As an official member of the old codgers' club, I'll fill in some meanings: "Saving Lucky Stars" came from our notebook paper. The packs had paper wrappers with with a star on them. We saved the stars and mailed them in for prizes. "Sat. morning serials" were short stories we saw at the movies, Each week we saw another installment i.e."chapters 1-15". Movies were $.25 + $.10 coke & $.15 popcorn! "Mum's the word" meant you mustn't tell something you knew.

well the hippies from the 60s, a focuson tv in the 70s to "show it like it is" with shows like ALL IN THE FAMILY, GOOD TIMES, CHICO AND THE MAN, electing morons for president like George W. and Obama--those are the liberal destructive freaks who destroyed the innosence and nice-ities of life. This song brings back good times and good memories--remember show like Beaver, Dennis the menace, Green Acres--none of this relaity tv crap.
